The reason why people don't lose weight is not because we need more information or new diets. It's because we don't know how to do it.
We read about all these diets from all these experts who really are just trying to sell us their products. The truth is we don't really need any of their stuff. Some products are helpful and useful as tools in a weight loss program but most of it really exists to take your money over and over again.
In my opinion most weight gain is due to:
1 - Emotional Eating: By far the biggest factor for the most number of people. If this is your challenge, then no matter how many books you read or how many diets you try you will never lose weight and keep it off in a healthy way. Emotions are way too powerful and they NEVER LOSE. You have to get to the root of the problem which usually means moments for introspection, self-awareness and for some, a couple of therapy sessions. This does take time but it's very much worth it. More on this in the chapter on emotional eating.
